Photographer Masako Nakagawa is interested in evolving herself [Part 2]

A woman with a well-established sense of self and an aesthetic sense cultivated through her interactions with society.

We will spotlight someone who embodies the image of a woman that HÉRNI projects as its brand image.

Following on from the first part, we spoke with Nakagawa Masako.

Photographer Masako Nakagawa said that when she saw HÉRNI's look, it reminded her of her admiration for French films when she was young.

"The model's muscular figure and relaxed poses made me think that an underwear brand with such a healthy worldview is wonderful."

Healthy is an important keyword for Nakagawa. She started weight training a year ago and her figure has been improving ever since.

"I realized that being physically strong was a bigger part of my identity than I had thought.

So when I noticed my physical strength declining, I felt really bad and started going to the gym.

After that, I started to feel more confident about the potential of my body, and I started to think about trying out lace and sweet clothes, which I had previously thought didn't suit me."

"I'm always interested in improving myself, so I'm consciously trying new things, like reading books in genres I've never read before and watching movies with my son that I thought I wouldn't like."

The scope of his work has also expanded, and he is currently writing two essay books this year.

The photo below shows an old lens from a camera that Nakagawa treasures.

"Compared to modern products, it's more time-consuming and difficult to use, but I love the magical finish it gives.

I try to use it every once in a while to remind myself of my love for photography."
